Business Students Place Second in International CIBER Case
Competition

Four SDSU College of Business Administration undergraduate
students placed second in The Fisher College of Business at Ohio
State University Center for International Business Education and
Research (CIBER) Case Challenge 2004. According to Michael Hergert,
faculty advisor for the SDSU team, 12 teams from around the world
competed November 2-5 on the Ohio campus with a team from Brigham
Young University in Provo, Utah winning the competition. "Our
students did an amazing job under a lot of pressure to be one of
the final teams," Hergert said. "They beat out some of
the top schools from around the world and should be very proud of
their accomplishment." Participating students were Nadine Creutz,
Augustus Gatto, Claudia Gastelum, and Vince Nicholais. The other
finalist was the University of Southern California.
Other participating schools included Copenhagen Business
School (Denmark), Georgia Institute of Technology, Hong Kong University
of Science and Technology (China), Fisher College of Business at
Ohio State University, Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico), University
of Dublin (Ireland), University of Michigan, University of North
Carolina - Chapel Hill, and the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Major sponsors included the Alcoa Foundation and Ford Motor Company.
