Help Us Build the Future

By Dean Gail Naughton
The beautiful building pictured below has been a dream and focus of mine for some time now. Why a new building? Quite simply, we have outgrown the capacity of our current facility. Throughout the years, we have worked hard to build strong programs like the Entrepreneurial Management Center, Hospitality and Tourism Management and Center for Economic and Community Development. These programs are currently scattered across SDSU’s campus. A new building brings students, faculty, and staff of multiple disciplines together under one roof to collaborate and leverage our expertise and synergies.

Private financial support is vital to make this building reality. We have two, large naming opportunities available now. Firstly, we seek an endowment of $25 million to name our College. This transformational gift will help to ensure the funding of our nationally recognized and innovative programs, faculty recruitment and retention and enhanced student support. Many of the top ranked business schools have been named after their donors and this has helped with branding their college, as well.

Secondly, for $15 million, a donor can name this professional new facility. A new building will bring all our students, faculty and programs together under one roof and provide a state-of-the-art learning environment. The building will accommodate executive training and alumni gatherings, as well.

A new home will create a vital branding element by bringing more visibility to the college and its central role in San Diego. Naming opportunities also will be available for spaces within the 170,000 square-foot building.

Now is the time to take our College to the next level and build the type of facility we can all take pride in. Please join me in the quest to fulfill this dream to benefit future generations.
