Armin Zehtabchi, PhD, Dr. Zehtabch has a PhD from Michigan State University. His rich and diverse backgrounds and experiences along with his passion for teaching and students’ success make him a great contributor to the College of Business. Dr. Zehtabchi’s philosophy for teaching is that students should reach to their fullest potential. Therefore, he always strives to inspire, motive and empower students to succeed. He is very energetic, dynamic and creative. He always compliment people and acknowledge their strengths and achievements. He is very sensitive to students’ needs; therefore, he always devotes his energy to advising and coaching students for a better life. Dr. Zehtabchi has been an entrepreneur for years, and has had several businesses. He has helped many Californian manufacturing and service companies with their business development, and assisted them with performance management, human resource development, marketing and manufacturing process improvement. He also helped variety of companies including Aero Space companies including Boeing’s Clients, Pharmaceutical/Laboratories, Electronics, Textile, Machine Shops, and Semiconductors in implementing the TQM, Six Sigma, ISO 9001-2000, Lean Manufacturing, SPC and JIT concepts. In addition to industrial backgrounds and experiences, Dr. Zehtabchi has held many academic leadership and management positions with some respected higher education institutions. Specifically he had held positions such as College Campus Director, Business Program Dean, MBA Program Coordinator (including managing the off-campus MBA program) and Program Manager. As the Program Manager at California State University, College of Engineering, he managed a multi-million dollar manufacturing engineering project through National Science Foundation Funded program. As the Program Manager, he worked with seven Californian campuses (UCLA, USC, UCI, and CSULB, CULA, CSUF, CSUN). He closely worked with the National Science Foundation Officials, the Officials of State of California, formed Industry Advisory Board and recruited many respected industry executives from Rockwell International, Hughes Aircraft, Xerox, and many other companies. Through College of Engineering, he collaborated with many high-ranking individuals including the President of the SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers). He also participated in course development, and the delivery of multimedia courseware. He also taught at the College of Engineering Technology, and served as the Undergraduate Advisor. Dr. Zehtabchi has been teaching traditional and online business and entrepreneurship courses at various universities including California State Universities for years. He has taught HRM, Compensation, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behaviors, TQM, Operations Management, Sales Management, Strategic Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and many other business courses. He has published and presented papers. He has also participated in reviewing papers for national and international organizations including Academy of Management and Organizational Behavior. He contributed to ASQ as a member of the editorial board, and reviewed good number of publications. Dr. Zehtabchi is very proud to be affiliated with the San Diego State University, College of Business. He looks forward to continue collaborating with his colleagues in team projects, research and publications.
