Carol
F. Venable, Ph.D. Carol F. Venable is a Professor in the School of Accountancy. She has taught courses in auditing, systems, taxation, professional responsibility and ethics, regulatory and management controls, and communication for accountants. In addition, she has developed self-paced laboratory and on-line computer tutorials. She also serves as the Director of the College of Business Honors Program. She is an active member of the American Accounting Association involved in the Auditing, Public Interest, and Teaching & Curricula Sections. She serves on the editorial boards of Advances in Accounting Education and Research on Accounting Ethics. Carol was the Curriculum Fellow for the SDSU Center for Community Based Service Learning and currently serves on its Advisory Board, as well as the Faculty Advisory Board of the Center for Community Economic Development. She has published in the areas of accounting, taxation, and accounting pedagogy, and she has given a numerous presentations on critical thinking and applications of technology in the accounting curriculum. Articles have been published in Journal of Accounting Case Research, The Accounting Review, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Real Estate Accounting and Taxation, National Public Accountant and others. Her interests include experiential learning, collaborative pedagogy, the use of technology to enhance the learning process, and interdisciplinary applications. She developed a collaborative learning technology classroom for the College of Business.
