Lynn M. Shore,
Ph.D. Lynn M. Shore is a Professor and Chair of the Management Department. Her primary research areas are on the employment relationship and work force diversity. Her research on the employment relationship focuses on the influence of social and organizational processes on the employee-organization relationship, and effects of this relationship on employee attitudes and behavior. Dr. Shore’s work on diversity has examined the impact that composition of the work group and employee/supervisor dyads has on the attitudes and performance of work groups and individual employees. She has published numerous articles in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, and Personnel Psychology. Professor Shore is a past Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Professor Shore has held leadership roles in the Academy of Management, having served as Human Resources Division Chair (2000-2001), on the Executive Committee (1995-1998), and as Professional Development Workshop Chair for the Diversity and Inclusion Theme Committee (2010-2011). Dr. Shore has taught several undergraduate courses including principles of management, a survey course in HR, HR selection, HR training, and organizational behavior. At the graduate level, she has taught master's courses in recruitment and selection, organizational behavior, and leadership. She has also taught a doctoral survey course in HR and a doctoral seminar in measurement and testing. Dr. Shore has consulted with a variety of organizations, including Raytheon, Vericare, BellSouth Advertising and Publishing, Equifax, Drake Beam Morin, Delta Airlines, and Communication Workers of America. She has primarily designed and administered attitude surveys. Dr. Shore has also been involved in employee assessment, outplacement, management training, and development and evaluation of selection systems. In addition, Dr. Shore has been a speaker on diversity for various organizational groups, and has served as an expert witness and consultant in EEO cases.
