Feraidoon
(Fred) Raafat,
Ph.D. Fred Raafat has been a Professor of Operations Management, in the Department of Management Information Systems, at San Diego State University since 1986. He has taught most of the operations management courses (undergraduate and graduate) offered by the department and serves as the Area coordinator from time to time. He has taught courses in China, the EMBA and certificate programs. He has been the faculty advisor to APICS and INFORMS, which are professional fraternities in Operations Management and Management Science. He received the San Diego State University College of Business Administration Outstanding Faculty Contribution Award in 2003 and in 1998 received the Outstanding Faculty Award in the MIS Department. His research has been published in a variety of journals including Operational Research Journal, Production and Inventory Management, International Journal of Management, Computers and Industrial Engineering Journal, Small Business Journal, and International Journal of Systems Science. He has served as a reviewer for a number of other journals as well. His degrees are from Oklahoma State University in Industrial Engineering and Management. He also has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Physics from Phillips University.
