Steven Osinski
Marketing Department

Steven currently teaches courses in DIRECT MARKETING and SELLING SKILLS & PRACTICES at San Diego State. In addition, he has also taught these courses for International students through the American Language Institute. Although relatively new to teaching, Osinski has extensive business experience within the Advertising, Marketing and Sales professions.

He was the founder and CEO of the SMART Group; a national advertising agency that specialized in serving the direct marketing needs of some of the major Wireless carriers including (what are now known as) VERIZON WIRELESS and
SPRINT NEXTEL. The SMART Group was acquired by TMP WORLDWIDE/MONSTER.COM in late 1998. Osinski served as the Vice President of Marketing for their Directional Marketing division overseeing a half billion in revenues for
two years.

Prior to starting his firm, Osinski was the Advertising Director for divisions of the Bell Atlantic and BellSouth Corporations. Before that, he was employed at Backer & Spielvogel Advertising in NYC.

Prior to joining the faculty at SDSU, Osinski spent his post Monster.com years serving on numerous Boards and in multiple non-profit organizations throughout Greater San Diego including CHAIRMEN'S ROUNDTABLE, CONNECT, JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT and the SAN DIEGO SOCIAL VENTURE PARTNERS. He is currently an active member of the CBA's Board of Directors.

Osinski attended the University of Miami where he earned a BA in Mass Communications and an MBA in Marketing. He is married and has two daughters.
