James R. (Jim) Lackritz, Ph. D.
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Dr. Jim Lackritz is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in
the College of Business Administration and Professor of Information
and Decision Systems at SDSU. Dr. Lackritz joined the faculty in
1977 after receiving M.Stat. and Ph.D. degrees from the University
of Florida. He was Associate Dean of the Graduate Division from
2003-2004, and served as Department Chair from 1986-1993.
Dr. Lackritz's research work focuses in the areas of Applied Statistics,
Statistical Algorithms, and Statistical Process Control. He has
published numerous papers in nationally and internationally recognized
journals including Journal of Applied Psychology , The American
Statistician, Communications in Statistics, Chance, Journal of Applied
Social Psychology, International Journal of Mathematical Education
in Science and Technology, International Journal of Human Resource
Development and Management, Employee Responsibilities and Rights
Journal, Personnel Psychology, Multivariate Behavioral Research,
Taxes The Tax Magazine, Advances in Taxation, Journal of
Borderlands Studies, Quality Progress, Asian Pacific Journal of
Human Resources, Teaching and Teacher Education, and Journal
of Management Education.
He has delivered and published many papers at national conferences
of The Decision Sciences Institute and The American Statistical
Association. He has served as a reviewer for three major journals,
as well as the National Science Foundation. Dr. Lackritz was the
featured speaker at the 1987 National Meetings of the American Statistical
Association, and is a recognized national speaker in his areas of
research. His textbook, Statistics for Business and Economics,
with Brooks/Cole Publishing Company, was published in 1991 and 1998.
Dr. Lackritz is a faculty co-founder of the Institute for Quality
and Productivity, a program through Professional Development in
the College of Extended Studies which teaches Total Quality Management
and Statistical Process Control concepts to local area companies.
He is a consultant to local businesses and is a renowned statistical
expert in litigation.
Jim is a former nationally ranked tennis player in singles and
doubles, as well as an avid skiier when his knees hold up. He is
past-President of the San Diego District Tennis Association.
