Marie-Eve Lachance, Ph.D. Marie-Eve Lachance joined the Finance department at San Diego State University in 2005. After completing her doctoral studies at the Wharton School, she taught for a year at Cass Business School in London. She currently teaches insurance and portfolio management. Her main research interest is the application of finance theory to financial security problems. She is particularly interested in problems involving the management of investment risk in a retirement financing context. Prior to her doctoral studies, Marie-Eve worked for three years as a pension actuary. Among other things, her duties included the design of investment policies and the valuation of pension plans.
