Kim, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Finance
Jaemin Kim, an assistant professor of finance at San Diego State
University, received his Ph.D. at the University of Washington.
Before joining San Diego State, he taught at the University of Oregon.
The courses he has taught include Financing the Emerging Enterprise,
Fundamentals of Finance, Investment, and Business Economics.
Professor Kims primary research is in the areas of corporate
payout policy (share repurchase), international finance, executive
compensation, entrepreneurship, and market microstructure.
Before he became an academic, he was affiliated with Daewoo Group,
the fourth largest industrial conglomerate in South Korea at the
time. He worked as an assistant to former group chairman, Kim Woo
Choong at Daewoo Office of the Chairman. He also worked for Daewoo
Securities Co., Ltd.
