Michelle
Dean,
Ph.D. Michelle A. Dean is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at San Diego State University. She received her B.A. and M.B.A. from Louisiana State University (LSU) as well as her Ph.D. in Human Resource Management from Louisiana State University. She has taught classes in Human Resource Management, Staffing, Compensation, and Labor Relations previously at LSU, University of Oklahoma, and the University of North Texas. Her research interests include biographical data, personnel selection, job analysis, and research methods issues. She has published in a variety of journals including Academy of Management Journal, Personnel Psychology, Research in Personnel/Human Resource Management, Human Performance, Organizational Research Methods, and Applied Human Resource Management Research. She is on the editorial board of Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly and is a member of the Southern Management Association Board of Governors. She has received awards for her research from the International Personnel Management Association Assessment Council (IPMAAC) and the Academy of Management (AOM) Research Methods Division. In addition, she has worked with a variety of organizations addressing human resource selection issues.
