MBA Consulting

For nearly 20 years, SDSU’s MBA business students have delivered high-level strategic and analytical skills to benefit the San Diego Business Community by providing their consulting expertise to more than 1,000 consulting projects as evidence of their tremendous reach in the community. In lieu of a thesis, MBA students work in teams of 3-4 to solve complex business problems for our Corporate and Community Partners. Key partners include General Atomics, SDG&E, Life Technologies, and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Center accepts applications throughout the year for this year-round program.

Projects include: business plan, feasibility study, doing marketing assessments, writing a marketing plan, preparing a production plan, doing financial analysis.

Undergraduate Consulting (Small Business Consulting Center)

The Small Business Consulting Center (SBCC) serves businesses with projects that are smaller in scope and require less complex solutions. The Small Business Consulting Center is a highly successful, award winning program, started as the Small Business Institute (under an SBA grant). It has served nearly one thousand small businesses in the San Diego region since its inception in the early 1970s. Our student consultants, working as a three or four person team, work with each small business client for an entire academic semester, with each consulting team guided by an MBA student.
