Judy Thompson President As President of Judy Thompson & Associates, Judy has been recruiting in the accounting and financial field in San Diego for over twenty-five years, first for the top producing office of a 325-office national search firm, and then as founder of this firm in September of 1981. She has served on the board of the local chapter (500+ members) of the Institute of Management Accountants for twelve years and was president from 1993-1994. She held the position of Chair for the Corporate Finance Council of San Diego from 2001-2002. She is currently the chair for the membership committee for Corporate Director's Forum and serves in their executive board. She was honored in 2000 by the San Diego Business Journal with a “Women Who Mean Business Award.” Judy has been a speaker for the IMA, FEI, the San Diego chapter of the California Society of CPA's, AWSCPA, the National Conference of ASWA, the Regional Conference for Beta Alpha Psi and has moderated Accounting Day Panels for 15+ years. She has been featured on KCEO + KSDO radio on topics related to Executive Search and the Role of the CFO. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from San Diego State University and an A.A in Mathematics from Colby Sawyer College. In 1991, Judy founded and continues to run a monthy support group for Accountants in her offices at 5080 Shoreham Place, Suite 204 in University City at 9:00 a.m. The group is free and offers advice and support for accounting and financial professionals who are unemployed. Judy also co founded, with K. Linda Rose, a second company, ThompsonRose, Interim Professionals in 1998 which also places accounting and financial professionals on interim and part time assignments for San Diego companies. In 2005, she co founded, with Thomas Brown, a third company, BrownThompson Executive Search which does executive searches above $200K on a retained basis.
