Thomas A. Merritt

Tom is the managing partner of the firm’s Tax Services group in San Diego.  Tom has extensive experience in assisting technology companies on issues such as equity-based compensation, research tax credits, revenue recognition, international structuring and mergers and acquisitions.

Tom joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Diego in 1977.  He spent one year with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Office of Government Services in Washington, D.C. prior to being promoted to Partner in 1990.  Tom became managing tax partner of the San Diego office in July 2000.  Tom has a wide range of experience in serving a variety of clients.  Some of Tom’s clients include SAIC, Inc. QUALCOMM Incorporated, Callaway Golf Company, ResMed Corporation, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, SANYO Corporation of America.

Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Saint Augustine Alumni Association.
