J. Scott Farber

Scott is an Audit Partner in our Irvine office and the Director of the firm’s West Region-South International Business Center.  He has 30 years of experience helping clients with mergers and acquisitions, financing, international trade, public registrations and general business advice.  Over his career, Scott has worked with a variety of manufacturing, distribution, technology and services companies across multiple industry sectors, including consumer electronics and technology hardware components.  As a member of Grant Thornton’s Consumer and Industrial Products Group, Scott understands techniques used by world-class manufacturers in today’s competitive global markets. Additionally, Scott serves as an elected member of the firm’s Partnership Board.

From 1995 - 1998, Scott was based in Hong Kong as Grant Thornton International’s Asia Pacific Technical Director and Liaison Partner. During this assignment, Scott traveled extensively throughout the 16-country Asia-Pacific division, including India, China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.  He continues to be active in the international community, serving a number of clients with foreign operations and attending Grant Thornton’s International conferences. Scott is also the Director of the firm’s Southern California International Business Center.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from San Diego State University. Scott is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) in California and Hawaii and is a member of the AICPA and California Society of CPAs.
