SDSU accounting senior, Wesley Martin, was selected to serve on the first-ever student panel for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) during their Western Regional Conference in Oklahoma City from June 4 – 6. The NASBA works with the 55 state/territorial boards of accountancy in setting rules and standards for CPA exams and the accounting industry in general. The panel, consisting of four university students from throughout the western United States, offered their insight and observations on the CPA examination and licensure process and the student perspective on accounting education and the future of the profession to NASBA’s members and other attendees. Martin was nominated by for the panel by SDSU accounting professor and Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) advisor, Dr. David DeBoskey and was chosen for the panel by the NASBA members. Martin is currently the president of SDSU’s BAP chapter.
