Dr. Chee Chow (accountancy) has been named the third most prolific author of accounting literature in academic accounting journals for the past half century (1959 – 2008). The numbers on the most prolific authors was compiled by Jean L. Heck from Saint Joseph's University. Chow has either authored or co-authored 53 papers that have been published in one of the top 26 "core" accounting journals. Chow was also placed at 45th in number of papers published in the top five accounting journals.


Dr. David DeBoskey (accountancy): A paper titled “Enhancing Teaching Effectiveness of Financial Accounting to Chinese Executives – A Case Study and Generalized Approach” has been accepted for publication in the November 2009 issue of Issues in Accounting Education.

A paper with A. Jiang titled “Earnings Management and Industry Specialization In Post-SOX Era: An Examination of the Banking Industry” presented at the American Accounting Association annual meeting, New York City, August 1 – 5, 2009.
Served as a discussant and moderator at the American Accounting Association annual meeting, New York City, August 1 – 5, 2009.

Received the 2009 Outstanding Faculty Contribution Award from the College of Business Administration for his excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Delivered a presentation with K. Chou titled “Issues Concerning XBRL-Based Financial Reporting: Lessons Learned from the SEC Voluntary Filing Program” at the Western American Accounting Association annual meeting, San Diego, California, April 23 – 25, 2009.

A paper titled “Dominant Owners and Financial Performance of Continental European Firms” was accepted for presentation at the Academy of International Business’ 2009 annual meeting, San Diego, California, June 27 – 30, 2009.
