The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy honored its top students from the Accounting 321 class completed during the 2008 fall semester. The luncheon was held at the SDSU’s Faculty-Staff Club on Friday, February 27, 2009. Each student was given the William E. Cole’s Director’s Outstanding Performance certificate and each student was given the opportunity to meet Cole personally, who sponsored and attended the luncheon. Cole is an SDSU accounting alumnus, founding member of the Leaf and Cole Accounting firm, and is currently the president of William E. Cole Accountant, APC. Guest speaker at the luncheon was James Comito, a Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. shareholder. Comito, also an SDSU accounting alumnus, sits on the advisory board for the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy. All students must achieve a B+ or higher in order to be considered for inclusion in the luncheon. Top 20 Accounting Students Honored

The top 20 students from the 2009 spring semester’s Accounting 322 class were honored by the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy during a luncheon held Friday, March 27, 2009.
Students were presented with the William E. Cole’s Director’s Outstanding Performance certificate and listened to presentations from guest speakers and SDSU accounting alumni, Amy Schmidt of the International Accounting Standards Board (B.S. ’03, M.S. ’05) and Dyan Zimmerman of Sempra Energy (B.S. ’05). Schmidt’s speech was delivered via satellite from London.
