The KPMG Foundation presented its annual KPMG Gold Challenge Award to the SDSU chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the annual Beta Alpha Psi conference in New York City. The SDSU chapter received a check for the top prize of $2500.
Challenge participation is limited to only those BAP chapters ranked as Superior Chapter Members for the past year and have contributed in a BAP regional or national meeting. There are 284 student chapters. A narrower number may submit a compelling 10-minute video as to why their chapter deserves the gold. Only 14 chapters were selected nationwide. SDSU’s chapter was the only one selected from California. The other west coast gold chapters were University of Oregon and University of Washington.
Beta Alpha Psi is a national honors organization which recognizes university
students in the fields of accounting, finance and information systems. There
are over 270 BAP chapters throughout the U.S. Dr. David DeBoskey acts as BAP’s faculty advisor.
