SDSU College of Business Administration Appoints Dr. Robert Plice as Chair of the MIS Department

RobertSAN DIEGO (May 12, 2011) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced that SDSU information and decision systems professor, Dr. Robert Plice, has been named as chair of the College’s Management Information Systems department (formerly known as Information and Decision Systems).

Plice will assume the position as chair on August 22, 2011. He replaces Dr. Bruce Reinig who will continue in his position as a professor in the MIS department after that time.

Currently, Plice is an associate professor of management information systems at SDSU and has been with the department since 2002. He earned his master of science in business administration from SDSU, a master of science in computer science from the University of Maryland and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine.

“Dr. Plice’s proven leadership, his commitment to excellence and innovation, and his dedication to his students and to the College made him the ideal candidate for the MIS chair position,” said Dr. Gail Naughton, dean of the College of Business Administration.
