SAN DIEGO (June 15, 2010) - The College of Business Administration (CBA) at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today that Dan Novak has been selected to serve on the College’s board of directors.

Novak is currently the vice president of global marketing public relations and communications at Qualcomm Incorporated where he directs the development and implementation of numerous marketing strategies and programs, including online communications, market and competitive intelligence, sponsorships, tradeshows, events, public relations and media outreach.

Novak is also an SDSU alumnus, having earned his master’s degree in professional studies and fine arts in 1992.

“As an alumnus and a marketing executive in one San Diego’s most respected companies, Dan brings considerable business communications expertise as well as his enthusiasm for all things SDSU to the table” said Dr. Gail K. Naughton, dean of SDSU’s College of Business Administration. “His vast experience in public outreach will provide the board with an outstanding liaison to both the business and academic communities.”

“A college degree is the best gift anyone can give themselves and, as an SDSU alumnus and CBA board member, I want to help pave the way for exceptional students to reach that goal,” said Novak. “I am genuinely looking forward to the opportunity to serve the College, the University and the students in striving to meet challenges and to achieve long-term and short-term objectives.”
