SDSU Professor Among First to Receive Software Security DesignationSAN DIEGO (January 29, 2009) – The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today that Dr. Murray Jennex, associate professor of Information and Decision Systems (IDS), has recently been notified that he is among the first recipients of the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLPCM) certifications. Jennex is one 175 recipients worldwide to be certified as a CSSLP. The CSSLP certification designates individuals with the highest degree of secure software development knowledge and best practices standards. He also holds the premier Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP®). The CISSP is the highest-level civilian security certification currently available to U.S. civilians. “The CSSLP certification exemplifies Dr. Jennex’s commitment to staying on the leading edge in information security and we are proud of the expertise he brings to the IDS department,” said Dr. Bruce Reinig, chairman of SDSU’s IDS department. “His students and the employers who hire them benefit from his knowledge and experience in information systems security management.” Because of his accomplishment records, considerable experience in the field, and an endorsement from other qualified professionals, Jennex’s high-level qualifications exempted him from the exam portion of the certification which will be given to all future CSSLP holders. |
