Local Students Trade “Arms and Food” at Fourth Annual International Economic Summit SAN DIEGO (May 26, 2009) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced today that the SDSU’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) will host the fourth annual International Economic Summit on Wednesday, May 27, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SDSU’s Aztec Center. The summit is comprised of 300 - 400 high school students from 12 local high schools and Baja California who are assigned to represent 89 nations throughout the world in a fast-paced and colorful educational competition. Students will be dressed in the native costumes and will outfit their display tables with the flags, colors and export products of their assigned nations. The student teams will also be judged on their costumes, successful debate of trade issues and the ability to improve their country’s standard of living. The winning team will be the group that advances their nation’s socio-economic status by the greatest margin by implementing their global economic plan through trade sessions with other nations that will include trading arms, food, financial aid and energy resources. The competition winner will be announced at the end of the event.
