SAN DIEGO (September 15, 2011) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced that Dr. Alex DeNoble, has been named executive director of SDSU’s Entrepreneurial Management Center (EMC). His appointment was effective September 1, 2011. DeNoble replaces Dr. Sanford Ehrlich, who retired from the College earlier this year.

DeNoble, who served as an advisor to the EMC for the past 25 years, is the founder and director of the Center’s Venture Challenge Business Plan Competition, which is now in its 23rd year. He was most recently the chair of SDSU’s Management Department.

“His dedication to SDSU’s entrepreneurial program and unwavering commitment to the Center made Dr. DeNoble the natural choice to head the EMC,” said Dr. Michael Cunningham, dean of the College of Business Administration. “Dr. DeNoble’s academic innovation and passion for entrepreneurial education has been an inspiration to his students, many of whom have become outstanding business leaders.”

Dr. DeNoble earned his Ph.D. in Management and Master of Science and Accounting degrees from Virginia Tech and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. He has been a professor in at SDSU’ s College of Business Administration since 1983.
