SDSU’s College of Business Administration
Named Among Top 10 Financial Planning Schools in U.S.

SAN DIEGO (November 2, 2011) - The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) announced that the College’s financial planning program was named one of 10 “Stand Out Financial Planning Schools” in the U.S. by Financial Planning magazine in their November 2011 issue.

When it was founded in 1980, SDSU’s financial planning program was one of the first academic curriculums of its kind in the United States. The program trains students to fully understand and analyze investment strategies, risk management, tax implications and estate planning. Students can earn their certificate, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in financial planning and SDSU’s is one of only a handful of programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

“Our exceptional faculty’s dedication to providing our students with a comprehensive and innovative financial planning academic experience is the prime factor SDSU is cited as having one of the most distinguished programs in the U.S., ” said Dr. Michael Cunningham, dean of SDSU’s College of Business Administration. “We are honored that Financial Planning has recognized the College’s commitment to educational excellence.”
