Department chair and professor of information and decision systems (IDS), Dr. Bruce Reinig, was named SDSU’s 2010 Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Faculty Contributor (known as the “Faculty Monty”) for the College of Business Administration. Each year this prestigious award honors an exceptional faculty member from each of SDSU’s seven colleges, the Imperial Valley campus and one employee from SDSU Library and Information Access. Reinig was presented with a Monty Award statuette during the annual All-University Convocation by SDSU provost, Dr. Nancy Marlin on August 26, 2010. A native of Iowa, Reinig earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri and earned his Ph.D. in management information systems at the University of Arizona. He came to SDSU in 2000 and became chair of the IDS department in 2006. During his career, Reinig has won numerous awards and honors for both his teaching and research including:
“Bruce Reinig has set the standard for teaching excellence and has established himself as one of the leading researchers in the college,” said Dr. Gail Naughton, dean of the College of Business Administration. “As department chair, he has made substantial gains in alumni relations, involving the local business community in assessment, class participation, and fund raising. He has done a terrific job of bringing his department together to accomplish their strategic goals including the development of a new Master’s degree in Information Systems and revitalizing their undergraduate curriculum. Bruce is very well respected by his faculty and students alike and is a trusted leader in the college.” |
