IDS Class Gets Tour of Baldrige Award Company
Dr. Jim Beatty’s IDS 744 (Lean Six Sigma) visited Malcolm Baldrige Award recipient, on October 6, 2008 healthcare company Premier Inc. Premier gave students a tour of the facility and a presentation on the processes the company used within their industry that led to the award.
On November 2, 2008, the class was visited by Sharp Health Care, another winner of the Baldrige Award. Two SDSU alumni, Nancy Pratt, Senior Vice President of Clinical Effectiveness, and Brett Maclaren, Manager of Clinical Effectiveness, gave a presentation on the implementation of their Lean Six Sigma processes.
Dr. Beatty has been on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Program 10 times, serving as an Examiner, Senior Examiner, Alumni Examiner, and Ambassador. |
