IMC Major Selected as McNair Scholar
SDSU Integrated Marketing Communications senior, Shanelle Clare, has been selected to join the McNair Scholars Summer Research program. Clare is the first College of Business Administration student to be chosen for the program.
To be eligible for the program, students must complete a research proposal that entails at least 300 hours of research and attend all program events. Clare was mentored during the 10-week research and workshop process by marketing professor, Dr. Michael Belch, as she completed her project proposal titled, “African-American Women Consumer Behavior”.
SDSU’s McNair Summer Research program is designed to offer scholarships of up to $2800 to potential Ph.D. students who are designated as low income, first-generation college students with a grade point average of 3.0 or above. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the TRIO program.
The program was named in honor of the late Dr. Ronald McNair, who was killed on January 28, 1986 when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded after launch from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. |
