Margaret Friend, Ph. D,Director Friend received her Ph.D from the University of Florida.
She has studied at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, UCSF,
and UC Berkeley. She is a faculty member in Psychology at SDSU and
the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Language and Communicative
Disorders. |

Amy Pace Pace received her B.A. in Spanish Literature and Political Science from UCSD and is currently a doctoral student in UCSD/SDSU Joint Doctoral Program in Language and Communicative Disorders. Pace's research focus is action processing and verb acquistion in early childhood. |

Stephanie De Anda
De Anda received her B.S. in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, specializing in Human Cognition. As a doctoral student in the Language and Communicative Disorders program, her interests include language development in multilingual populations.

Kristi Hendrickson
Hendrickson received her B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from UC Davis and is currently a first year doctoral student in the UCSD/SDSU Joint Doctoral Program in Language and Communicative Disorders. Hendrickson is particularly interested in researching the developmental trajectory of infant language comprehension.

Raven Bates
Bates received a B.A. in Psychology and B.S. in Biology from UC San Diego and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Psychology at SDSU. With an emphasis in Developmental Psychology, her research focuses on the development of oral narrative and executive function in children.

Brett Bogyo
Brett Bogyo received her B.S. in Psychology from UC San Diego and recently finished her first year of the M.A. Program in Psychology at SDSU. With an emphasis in developmental psychology, her research focus is on spatial relationships and language.

RanJoo Ham
RanJoo Ham received her B.A. in English linguistics from Korea and is in her second year of the M.A program in Linguistics at San Diego State University. Her research interests are in spatial relationships and linguistic development in children.

Amanda Ortega
Amanda is working on a B.A. in Psychology. Her interest in research and psychology began in 2005, and she plans to pursue graduate study. Amanda is assisting on data analysis of narrative production and the development of executive function in regards to emergent literacy of four year old's. |

Deniz DeLaMora
Deniz is working on a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from SDSU. Her interest is in psychology began her sophomore year in high school and she plans to pursue graduate study. Deniz is assisting on data analysis in narrative production and the development of executive function in regards to emergent literacy in 4 year-olds.

Rich Kalenka
Rich is an undergraduate student working on his B.A. in Psychology. He is currently assisting in research on spatial perception and word learning. He plans to graduate in 2012 and pursue a Psy. D degree in clinical psychology.

Anya Mancillas Anya is a third year undergraduate majoring in Psychology at SDSU. She has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and holds a special interest on the subject. This will be Anya's first time working in a lab and is looking forward to the rewarding experience. Anya intends to use her lab, work, and schooling experience to pursue her graduate studies.

Iris Broce
Broce is a fourth year Psychology student at SDSU. As an undergraduate research assistant, she assists in a study involving the relation between event segmentation and verb acquisition in early childhood.

Diana Valencia Diana is an undergraduate student at SDSU working on a B. A. in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She plans on continuing her education with a graduate program. She is a research assistant in a child language development lab. |

Adrianne Simpson, M.A.
Simpson received her Master's degree in Psychology in Summer 2008 after completing a thesis on the relation between the home literacy environment and early language. She is an adjunct professor at Mesa and Miramar Colleges in San Diego and continues to collaborate on literacy research in the lab. |

Sara Schmitt, M.A.
Schmitt received her B.A. in Psychology from University of Wisconsin- Madison. She completed her Master's thesis in child language development and is conducting her doctoral studies in Human Development and Family Sciences at Oregon State University. She continues to collaborate on literacy research in the lab. |

Michelle Jackson
Jackson received her B.A. in Psychology and Art from UC Santa Barbara. Jackson's research focuses on children's narratives, vocabulary acquisition, and the home literacy environment. Michelle received her M.A. in Psychology at SDSU in May 2011. |

Caitlin Phillips
Phillips received her B.A. in Psychology from Northeastern University. With an emphasis in Developmental Psychology, her research focus is maternal responsiveness as a predictor of language development. Caitlin received her M.A. in Psychology from SDSU in May 2011. |

McKenzie Lewis
Lewis receieved her B.A. from SDSU and is completing her Master's degree in Psychology. One of her research interests is the decline of reading among adolescents and college students and its impact on achievement. |

Taryn de Neve
Taryn de Neve graduated from San Diego State University in 2011 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She is currently working as a child development counselor in a residential treatment facility for severely emotionally disturbed youth. She is gaining clinical experience and plans to apply to graduate programs in Fall 2011. |

Heather Garner graduated from San Diego State University in 2011 with a major in Psychology and was admitted to the Master's in Professional Mental Health Counseling Program at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. |

Sarah Sabia
Sarah Sabia graduated from San Diego State University in 2011 with a major in Psychology and is applying to study Art History at Sarah Lawrence University in New York. |

Suzanne Merz
Merz is an undergraduate student at SDSU, majoring in Psychology. As a research assistant, Merz assists with the Home Literacy Environment study. She plans to attend graduate school once she completes her studies at SDSU. |
