At The Infant and Child Development Laboratory at San Diego State University, we are pursuing multiple research questions which are concerned with children's earliest experiences in the world and how these contribute to their language, thought, and emotion. The laboratory is directed by Margaret Friend, Ph.D., a faculty member in the SDSU Psychology Department and the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Language and Communicative Disorders. Graduate and undergraduate students are involved in every phase of the research process. Our research is published in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences, and reported to parents on our mailing list in our newsletters.
