Interested in web design? Join us as Paul Drohan shares his knowledge on basic design principles!
Be sure to join us at our next meeting tonight Monday, April 15, at 6 p.m. in SSW (Student Services West) 2522 as we welcome Paul Drohoan, Executive Design Director at Digitaria. Don will be speaking to us about his experiences and his path to his current job. He will also be putting on a workshop on basic design principles that he lives by. You won't want to miss this week!

Aprilg 25th: Ad 2 San Diego Student Agency Tour. Heads up fellow Ad Clubbers! Are you currently a student? Ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of San Diego’s marketing and interactive agencies? Well here’s your chance to find out! Ad 2 San Diego is putting on the Student Agency Tour. They will be visiting some of San Diego’s most prominent agencies to get an exclusive behind the scene look. You’ll learn how agencies create and execute campaigns, as well as, getting a sneak peek to work in progress. After the tour, there will be Happy Hour at Zia's Bistro which is open to everyone. The tour is for current students only and is FREE! Registration is required and attendance will be strictly limited to 25 so make sure to grab your spot today!

Love concerts and interested in event sponsorship?
Stop on by this Monday, March 11, at 6 p.m. in HH (Hepner Hall) 218 as we welcome Amy Berkowitz, Director of Sponsorship Sales at Live Nation. Join us as Amy will discuss her role in helping to gather sponsorship for all the various concerts and events put on by the fantastic crew at Live Nation. If you've eveer been to a Live Nation event, especially downtown at the House of Blues, then you're sure to have noticed her work in helping put such on such great events. Also, we will be hosting Sony campus representative Antonio Cinotto. He'll be providing us with some Sony swag that we will be raffling off to those in attendance, so don't miss out! As always, bring your appetite as we will be providing food and drinks as well. We hope to see you there!
Also... Mark your calendars. This Wednesday, March 13th, we will be holding a fundraiser at Rockin' Baja in the Gaslamp Quarter from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring in our flyer, grab yourself some dinner, and a portion of your bill will go towards the SDSU Ad Club. If you haven't already picked up our flyer, be sure to print it up from our Ad Club events page on Facebook. Be sure to share it with your friends! Helping out your favorite club while enjoying some awesome food?! That's a win-win situation!

March 12th: Market Managers "Meet and Greet" Happy Hour. Stop by Starlite on March 12th 2013 @ 5:00pm to meet the new market managers, Shelly Woodrow (Cox) and Melissa Forrest (Clear Channel). This is an open event with no entrance fee. There are wonderful happy hour specials for all our guests to indulge in. Come mix and mingle with the newest addition to San Diego's market managers. Must be 21 and over.

Curious about event marketing?
We will be meeting this Monday, March 4, at 6 p.m. in HH (Hepner Hall) 218. This week we welcome UT San Diego Brand Marketing Associate (and San Diego State University alumnus) Bianca Puopolo! Join us as Bianca discusses her experience in the event marketing field and her role in helping promote numerous events throughout the San Diego region. We will be meeting this Monday, February 25th at 6 p.m. in HH (Hepner Hall) 218. This week, Sheila Fox will be speaking to us about how to network successfully in order to get the job you want! She is the Director of the San Diego Advertising Club, and has many years of marketing and advertising experience under her belt. She has also arranged for one of her clients, The Tilted Kilt- Mission Valley, to donate food for our meeting this week! Also... Mark your calenders. Ad Club is BACK!
Hope everyone had a smoothe start into Spring semester, 2013. We're starting up SDSU Ad Club for the new year, and it's gonna be awesome!
We will be meeting Mondays at 6PM in HH 218 beginning this Monday, the 18th. Our first meeting will be a meet and greet with food and beverages, and we will holding a contest to win a $25 chipotle gift card!
Next week, the 25th, our speaker will be Sheila Fox, director of San Diego Ad Club.

I hope you all had a smoothe finals week. It was really wonderful getting to know all of you this semester at Ad Club, and thank you so much for taking the time to spend it freely with us! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday break and we'll see you back and bright in January for Spring 2013!

We made it to our last Ad Club Meeting, everybody! On Monday, we will be having a couple speakers, the founders of Flex Watches, Travis Lubinsky and Trevor Jones. We will also have our executive board elections. Those who have been chosen to be our new leadership members will be announced at our winter banquet at the end of the semester. The banquet will be announced at a later date.
Leadership positions open include but aren't limited to:
VP of Programming: responsible for finding speakers
VP of Communications: responsible for emailing members
VP of Membership: responsible for sign-in sheet during club meetings, keeping track of membership fees, and recruiting/tabling event email lists
VP of Fundraising: responsible for fundraising activities
VP of Social Events: responsible for volunteer, social, club bonding, and networking events. Also responsible for bringing food for the club
Treasurer: responsible for keeping track of funds, receipts, reimbursements, dues, and the bank account

Hey, everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful Veterans Day weekend last week. We only have two more meetings of Ad Club left and it's off to Finals! Tomorrow our meeting will be hosted by the founders of flex watches, Travis Lubinsky and Trevor Jones as our speakers!
In other news, we will also be starting sign ups for Ad Club Executive Board elections for Spring 2013. A sign up sheet will be available tomorrow at the meeting. It's a great way to get involved on campus, to take a leadership position in a club. Leadership positions look great on resumes and extra curricular activities to show your value in commitment and dedication. You may view the list of positions and their responsibilities in the "About" section at SDSUAdClub.com!
Some open positions include:
Interactive Media Design Chairman: Updates website and meetings, responsible for designing flyers, designing the t-shirt, and updating social media. (Dreamweaver and Photoshop experience required.)
VP of Communications: collects new emails from membership, emails updates of meetings and events, updates job board on the website, updates social media.
VP of Membership: responsible for sign in sheets, email lists, tracks phone numbers and emails.

Tomorrow our meeting will be hosted by Annette Fleming from KPBS as our speaker! Tomorrow is also the last day to turn in Ad Club dues. It is now $50 for the semester, and $80 for the year.

Hey Ad Clubbers!
Our next meeting is Monday, October 29th with Dylan Whitman, founder of Flank Digital!
The San Diego Color Run is next Saturday, November 3rd! Please register to volunteer if you have not already. It's at Qualcomm Stadium. The first race is at 9:00am, and the last race starts at 1:30pm. Look at the San Diego Color Run website for details.
Also keep in mind that the last day to turn in Ad Club dues is November 5th. It is now $50 for the semester, and $80 for the year.

Don't forget about our next meeting tomorrow, October 22nd. Same time, same place, 5:00-6:30pm in EBA-254. If you did not pay your dues, they are now $50 for the semester, $80 for the year. The final deadline to turn in general dues is November 5th.

Don't forget, the Del Mar Mud Run is this Saturday, October 6th with shifts from 9:00am-2:30pm! We are tag-teaming with AMA as a dual fundraiser event. If we can get 35 or more people to volunteer at this event, we will raise $250 for each club. It is really important that we have as much of you to participate as possible! If you have any questions or if you would like to sign up, please email Lucy at president@sdsuadclub.com. We will be organizing a carpool, so stay tuned for updates about that!
Dues will be due two weeks from this meeting, October 15th. They are $45 for one semester, and $80 for the full year. After October 15th, the dues will increase to $50. So you still have time to see if you want to join.
