Virtual Hosting on ROHAN
![]()
Virtual Hosting is available for ROHAN department, faculty, and student organization accounts. Virtual Hosting replaces a long, unwieldy URL with one that is shorter and more descriptive of your web site. Virtual URLs help people remember your web site and make it easier for them to type its URL. Example:
rohan.sdsu.edu/dept/infosys/index.html becomes infosys.sdsu.edu
Setting up virtual hosting is a two step process: 1) the ROHAN administrator must set up virtual hosting from the ROHAN account to the new hostname, and 2) a new hostname (DNS) must be registered with the IT Security Office.
As part of the ROHAN Administrator’s setup, registering the new hostname with the IT Security Office is included. Please allow up to 5 days for processing your Virtual Host request. A return email message will be sent to you when the virtual hosting process has been completed.Requesting A Virtual Hostname
