  The 100kW nuclear reactor at CARE is the only University operated reactor in England and Wales. The Centre has the three most powerful multielement techniques available for trace determinations: neutron activation analysis (NAA), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES).
