Spam filtering with SquirrelMail

SquirrelMail Spam Filtering

SquirrelMail (Rohan webmail) supports Message Filters. Messages identified as Spam or having a Virus can be automatically moved into your Trash folder by setting up filters in SquirrelMail. Message filters scan your INBOX each time you login to SquirrelMail.

SpamAssassin marks the Subject: line with ****SPAM**** if the tests determine the message is most likely Spam. Similarly, MailScanner marks messages with {Virus?} when MacAfee finds a virus attached, and when attachments have dangerous .PIF or hidden extensions (test.doc.exe for example.)

The following shows how to setup Message Filters for Spam and Virus messages. The Filters will automatically send filtered messages to your Trash folder each time you login to SquirrelMail. Messages in the Trash folder are autopurged after 7 days. The (purge) link purges the Trash folder immediately.

Login to SquirrelMail (webmail) and click Options and the following screen is displayed. Click Message Filters
