This page guides you through setting up the following secure settings on Outlook:

• The POP server using the alternate SSL secured port 995.
• The SMTP server with require STARTTLS on the SMTP port 8025.
• Accepting Rohan's SSL Certificate.

Only MicroSoft Office 2003 SP2 or newer versions of Outlook will work with secure settings!

Start Outlook and select Tools -> E-Mail Accounts.

• From the pop up window select View or change existing e-mail accounts.
  
  
  
  
• Click Next.
• The E-mail Accounts windows opens:
  
  
  
  
• Select rohan.sdsu.edu account on the left and select Changes
  
  
  
  
• Verify Incomming Mail Server (POP3): rohan.sdsu.edu
• Verify Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):    rohan.sdsu.edu
• Click the More Settings button.
• The Internet E-mail Settings window opens:
  
  
  
  
• Select the Outgoing Server tab
• Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
• Check Use same settigns as my incoming mail server
• Click the Advanced tab.
  
  
  
  
• Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
• Change the Incoming server (POP3): to 995
• Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
• Change the Outgoing server (SMTP): to 8025
• Click OK
  
  
• Click Test Account Settings...
• The window Internet Security Warning pops up. Click the Yes button to trust Rohan's certificate.
  
  
  
  
• The window Test Account Settings will open:
  
  
  
  
  
  
• This test sents a test email to your account. It is normal for it to fail.
• Click Close
• Click Next
• Click Finish
