Configuring Email for Secure Connections


    

New SSL Root Certificate is now in use. If you see a SSL security certificate warning, your email client may not have this certificate. The issuer of the SSL Certificates used by Rohan, ipsCA.com, has recently renewed their root CA. The new root CA expires in 2029. Until the new Root CA is included you may experience this problem.

Install the new ipsCA Root Certificate Bundle and import it in your email client.

Only email clients configured to use secure settings are able to connect to the Rohan email server.

Unless configured to use secure (encrypted) protocols, email programs send your username, password, and email content as clear text that could possibly be intercepted by others, particularly on a wireless network. Check your email programs to make sure incomming (IMAP or POP) and outgoing (SMTP) servers are configured with secure settings:

Mail.sdsu.edu client email settings
Rohan Webmail uses HTTPS for security.
