find
The find command allows you to find files located in your home directory and all its sub-directories. There are a number of different parameters that you can send to find to tell it exactly which file you're looking for. For example, to find a file by it's name, go to your home directory and at the ROHAN prompt type:
rohan% find . -name 'test*' -print
This will find all the files in your directory that start with test and end with any other characters (test2, testosterone, testy).
To find a file by it's creation or modification date, at the ROHAN prompt type:
rohan% find . -mtime -5 - print
This will find all files created or modified in the last five days.
