debug (dbx and gdb)
The purpose of a debugger is to allow you to see what is going on inside
another program while it executes or what another program was doing at the moment
it crashed.
dbx is a debugger for cc, acc, CC, pc (pascal), f77
(fortran) and assembly programs. It provides a controlled environment for
their execution. dbx accepts the same commands as debugger, but uses
a standard terminal (tty) interface. See man dbx
for more info.
gdb is the GNU debugger for gcc and g++.
