Basic ftp Commands
- ?
- Asks for help
- ? topic
- Asks for help on a specific topic.
- ascii
- Sets the transfer mode for the transfer of an ASCII text file.
- binary
- Sets the transfer mode for the transfer of an executable program such as an application, graphics, or sound file.
- cd
- Changes directories.
- cdup
- Changes directories upward; moves back to the previous directory level.
- dir
- Shows the contents of the current directory.
- ftp
- Starts the file transfer protocol program.
- get
- Gets the specified file and downloads it to your or your host's computer.
- get filename |more
- Prints text files to your screen one screen at a time.
- ls
- Lists the current directory in short form.
- ls -l
- Lists the current directory in long form.
- put
- Puts the specified file and uploads it to your or your host's computer.
- quit
- Quits your ftp session.
