ROHAN Web Server - Web Page Guidelines

Web Page Content Creation

The following guidelines merit consideration when creating your web page on ROHAN:

• The material and subject matter in your home page reflects upon San Diego State University and you.
• Your home page can and will be accessed by people from all over the world!
• Some material may be protected by copyright laws and thus requires permission to use. Be sure you have that permission.
• The content of your home page can not be used for business or commercial gain.
• Avoid offensive language and graphics.
• Please see ROHAN Minimum Requirements for additional information on content.
• Further information regarding SDSU campus web policy, style, content, and templates for example San Diego State University Home Pages, can be found in the Web Style Guide for SDSU.

ROHAN Web Page Publication

Students - Once a student has created a web page on ROHAN (index.html file in their public_html sub-directory), their web page will automatically be listed on the Master Student web page listing on ROHAN at http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/home/index.html.

Faculty, Staff, Departments and Student Organizations:

• Send an email message to the ROHAN Webmaster (webmaster@rohan.sdsu.edu) to publish your URL in the established venues.
• Non Academic Staff (with web pages on a server other than ROHAN) can send an email message to the ROHAN Webmaster (webmaster@rohan.sdsu.edu) and request publication on the Master list of SDSU Staff or Faculty Home pages.

An email confirmation of the request will be sent when the publishing information has been processed or forwarded to the SDSU Home Page webmaster or appropriate contact, as necessary. The published link for:

• an Academic Department/College Home Page will appear on the Academic Program Information and Departmental pages from the SDSU Home Page.
• a Course Home Page will appear on the appropriate department Home Page. (Requests should be directed to the department.)
• a Student Organization Home Page will appear on the Student Organization Webpages on ROHAN
• a Faculty Home Page will appear on the SDSU Faculty Home Pages on ROHAN.
• a Staff Home Page will appear on the SDSU Staff Home Pages on ROHAN.
