ROHAN Web Server - Features and Services
![]()
The Sun Enterprise T5120 Server (www-rohan.sdsu.edu) equipment allows all rohan.sdsu.edu users to utilize forms in their web pages. The created forms can be customized to collect specific information and then Email the data using CGI scripts. To accommodate CGI requests and provide multimedia capabilities on the ROHAN Web Server, the following features and services are available.
Features and Services
- Virtual Hosting is available on ROHAN for department and student organization accounts. For example: if you currently have a web page at URL - http://rohan.sdsu.edu/~infosys/index.html, an alias can be set up so that users can go to an easier URL (i.e. http://infosys.sdsu.edu). For procedures in setting up virtual hosting, see http://rohan.sdsu.edu/virhost.php.
- The ROHAN Web Server's CGI features for all users allow writes from CGI scripts to a user's account, as well as requiring the use of ~username in URLs.
- Streaming Media Quota is available on the ROHAN Web Server for use by SDSU Academic faculty/staff and departments only. To have this option activated for a ROHAN account, interested SDSU Academic faculty/staff and departments will need to request Streaming Media Quota activation via email to accounts@rohan.sdsu.edu after their ROHAN account has been established. Once this is done, these users can place files in the real file system for storage, editing, playing and performing live captures. See the Streaming Media page for more information.
