Connecting the Open Array to the Distributive Property

Use the dynamic multiplication array below to model at least two different solutions to each of the following problems.  Reflect on which solutions would help you solve the problems mentally.

1. You may want to use a subtraction strategy for some. 

2. The total size of the array can be changed (enlarged or collapsed) by moving the red dots along the top and left side to form the exact factors you need.

3. It is generally recommended that you start from the left and move right, and start at the top and move down.
