BiographyI was born in San Diego, California on December 15, 1972. I attended the first total immersion pilot program for Spanish language in San Diego. In the program, all my core classes were taught in Spanish. I benifited greatly from this type of instruction. I graduated high school in 1990 and went to college at Mesa community colllege in order to save money for what woulkd be the highlight of my coollege carrer, my Junior year abroad in Spain. I studied in spain at the University of Granada and it changed my life . I enjoyed my expierence so much thta I didn't want to leave. I fell in love with the culture and made it apart of my own. I finished up my studies at San Diego State University with an B.A. in Spanish (with distinction) and a minor in Plitical Science with and enphasis in international studies. I continued my education at SDSU and entered in the Bilingual Croos-cultural Language acuasiton Department (BCLAD). Upon graduation of the program, I was hired at Poway high to teach Spanish where I am currently teaching. At Poway High I am the co-advisor of the senior class (1999), Rock Climbing club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I enjoy my students. I am currently working my masters degree at SDSU in Spanish Linguistics. ProjectsLast semester I began to learn how to use Director 6. Using this application, I presented the grammar concepts of comparativos y superlativos (comparatives and superlatives) to native English speakers. The program uses interactive buttons in the pratice section at the end. I am currently enrollled a web design class. I plan on doing my thesis in educational technology. I plan on doing something to suplement my cirriculum at Poway High. My thesis will use the world wide web as a supplement to my current teaching. I will have my students use specially designed web pages to enhance current material. The result will be a study on the impact of web technolgy on foreign language high school classroom.
