Biography

I was born in Mexicali, Baja California Norte, México. I am the fourth of five children. At the age of thirteen we moved to San Ysidro, CA. Since then I have attended school in San Diego. I graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish literature. I taught Spanish in Immaculate Heart of Mary High School in Los Angeles. Then I enrolled in the Bilingual Credential Program at San Diego State University. I graduated in May 1993 from SDSU and started teaching at Memorial Jr. High. I am a 9th grade grade Spanish for Spanish Speaker teacher. Memorial Jr. High is located in the middle of Barrio Logan community. The historic Chicano Park is located a few blocks from our school. There is a lot of history surrounding this community. I am also the coordinator of the Triton Project at Memorial. This project has brought a lot technology to our schools including training for all our teachers and students. This year I will be coordinating the school newspaper done by our students. I am currently in the Spanish Masters programat SDSU.
