You can find a variety of teaching materials for use with A Gift of Fire on this site and at Prentice Hall's Instructor Resource Center. Below I describe material on each site.
This site is the author's Companion Site for the book. It is public. Most or all of the material on Prentice Hall's site is restricted to instructors. Anyone can view a list of what's available there (possibly more up-to-date than the list below), but when you get to something restricted, you will be asked to log in. First-time users will be asked to register. Registration takes a few days, so if you plan to use Prentice Hall's site, it is good to register soon.
Some types of material appear on both sites. They were prepared and used by different instructors. Feel free to select whatever works best for your class.
If you are browsing and not already using the text, you may want to look at a detailed table of contents. You can find more about the book and ordering information on Prentice Hall's catalog page.
I will have an opportunity to correct typos and errors in the new third edition when the second printing is done. Please send me e-mail (GiftofFire at sdsu . edu) if you find any. Thanks.

In Greek mythology, Prometheus brought science and technology--and fire--to
humans.
The hand and flame on the cover are part of the statue of Prometheus by Paul
Manship
in Rockefeller Center in New York. Read more about the
Prometheus myth.
