* A note about the "handouts"
These files are based on handouts I gave my students. I removed some details specific to my class, to make them more generic, but you will probably want to make more changes, e.g., in deadlines, specific requirements, percentage of course grade, etc.

Additional Exercises and Comments on Exercises in the Text

I have found that some of the exercises in the text generate particularly interesting results. Some can be the subject of long class discussions. I've written, for the most part, brief comments on selected exercises. In a few cases, I have included longer comments about the class discussions that follow some of the exercises. There are also a few additional exercises, not in the text, some based on events that occurred after the book was published. Because I include some discussion of good (or weak) answers for the exercises, I will put this material on Prentice Hall's site (restricted to instructors) when I've completed it.
