Section 10.3.3
A thief stole a laptop from a car of a National Guard employee. It
contained Social Security numbers and dates of birth of Guard
officers. The officers were alerted to watch for signs of Identity
Theft. (Jan. 22, 2006) This and several similar incidents illustrate
a risk of having unencrypted sensitive information on laptops
carried by employees.
