Exhibit at the La Jolla Library, March 2-April 2
Exhibit at Bob Davis Camera Shop, April 2-April 31
Photographs by Andrew Feenberg
Andrew Feenberg teaches philosophy at San Diego State University. He has been taking photographs for seven years, gradually developing a style of his own. His photographs have been displayed at the La Jolla Library.
Most of the photographs in this exhibit are about the relation of reality and imagery. The three dimensional world in which we live is haunted by two dimensional objects, such as pictures, signs, graffitti, and shadows. Photography projects three dimensions into two and calls into question the boundaries between the real and the image. This is an ambiguity fraught with significance in a society that lives by and for images.
A few of the photos are included simply for the joy in color and light.
The black and white pictures were made with a Konica Hexar and printed by Gene Nocon.
The Photographs are for sale. You can reach Andrew Feenberg at 858-459-0625 or feenberg@sdsu.edu.
