1) What responsibilities do corporations have toward society and the community?
2) Who is ultimately responsible for the decisions of the firm? Do corporate executives and managers have an obligation to question orders that are socially irresponsible and can they override their fiduciary responsibility?
3) Are corporations inherently wicked? Does the creation of an organization result in the formation of another entity beyond the makeup of its parts?
4) How does the Free Market expect our corporations to act?
5) Who makes decisions for the company? And, who are these decisions made for?
6) According to the professionals and investors on the video, who is responsible to the community?
7) If corporate executives have a responsibility to the shareholders, do they have a right to make decisions with shareholder money that might not maximize profits?
8) Should the shareholders be involved in managerial decision making? Would this help solve the moral dilemma?
9) What problems can you foresee in the distribution of the duties of Shareholders?
10) How might decisions made on behalf of Shareholders adversely affect the community?
11) By making socially responsible decisions on behalf of the corporation, is the company executive now acting as a public servant?
12) Does someone have to lose for someone else to gain? Does profit maximization have to be achieved through the exploitation of something else (employees, consumers, environment, etc.)?
