Application for Masters of Arts in Women's Studies

Thank you for your interest in pursuing graduate work in Women's Studies at San Diego State University. Here we offer information and application materials for our Masters of Arts program as follows:

Please submit your University application and $55.00 application fee to: Graduate Admissions, San Diego State University, 5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego, CA 92182-8225. Also have all of your undergraduate transcripts sent directly to Graduate Admissions in sealed envelopes directly from the institution. Submit all other application materials-your personal statement and two letters of recommendation-directly to the department. Due date for all materials is February 15. International students must provide transcripts and proof of degree in the original language as well as a certified English translation. Exam scores (GRE; TOEFL for international students whose baccalaureate education was in a language other than English) are to be submitted to San Diego State University.

We also include here an application for a Graduate/Teaching Assistantship. We expect to be able to support a a number of graduate students who will work either as research or teaching assistants. We encourage all potential students to apply for these assistantships. Applications for assistantships must be sent directly to the Women's Studies Department. No one will be awarded an assistantship without submission of GRE scores.

As you will see, our department has a wide range of courses at the graduate level. In addition to our distinguished core faculty, we have a large number of Faculty Associates who are available to serve as thesis advisors and/or who will be teaching graduate Women's Studies courses in our department or related courses in their home departments. We are excited about the quality and singular tradition that we offer.

If you have any questions, please contact our Graduate Advisor, Professor Susan E. Cayleff (email address: cayleff@mail.sdsu.edu), phone: (619) 594-5943.
